Adam Toth is the co-owner of Mylko, a nut-based milk company located in the Junction in Toronto. Toth's wife and co-owner of Mylko, Faiza Vassanji, started making nut milks after her tolerance for dairy waned.
Realizing store-bought dairy-free options were laden with additives, they started making their own nut milks at home, then selling them at local farmers' markets, where they gained a loyal following.
Toth weighs ground dates to be added as a sweetener to some of Mylko's blends, which include barista cashew, rose pistachio and cashew chai.
He uses a variety of nuts (almond, pistachio and cashew), which he grinds into a paste, then blends with water and strains to produce Mylko's milks.
