Corinna Mozo, above, chef and owner of La Cubana restaurants, dives into a bowl of her conch fritters, which pay homage to her father’s Cuban homeland.
La Cubana’s décor is inspired by the diner Mozo’s grandfather ran in central Cuba. The restaurant is familyfriendly and serves all the Cuban classics — yuca frita, sweet plantains, cubans sandwich, empanadas and tostones.
Mozo opened La Cubana with her husband Victor Coelho in 2013.
They now have three locations in Toronto — on Ossington, Gerrard East and Roncesvalles — with slightly varying menus.
